Dbunkbnnbss.—James Mason, who on Wednesday had been fined for assaulting the police, was again brought up, and for being drunk, for using obscene language in a thoroughfare, and for assaulting Constable Hayes, he was fined £3 5s in all, or in default fourteen days’ imprisonment with hard labor. Annie Wharton, just out of gaol, was fined 10s, or in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. John Nixon, who had been under medical treatment at Addington for lunacy from drink, was broucht up cured. He was ordered to pay 10a |6d for his maintenance while in gaol, and being warned that if he appeared again on a similar e large he would be placed under the prohibitory clause of the Licensing Act ; ho was discharged. Walter Hartnell, for using while under the influence of liquor, abusive and threatening language, was fined £l, or in default forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. Indecent Assault.—John Young, charged with ati offence of this nature, was remanded till Saturday. Breach of the Licensing Act.—Mabel A. Boyd was charged with having sold in her house, which is a brothel in New street, on June 14th, shortly after midnight, four bottles of beer to William Yielding and Jos. Aitkon, for which she received as payment 5 s per bottle. The charges were founded on evidence given before the Court in an assault case on Wednesday last. Informations had been laid in regard to the sale to each of the men named. A great deal of evidence was heard. The Bench said though they had no doubt the beer was sold, it was impossible to convict. Case dismissed. Fraud in Bankruptcy.—Albert Moll was further remanded till Wednesday next,
