I • . The ordinary monthly .meeting of Ibis | Board was held this day at 2 p.m. Present — Messrs. F. Jones (in the chair), H. W. Perynan, J. L.Wilson, H. Atkinson,W.Attwood, W. Boag at-d T. 8. Lambert. lie Chairman apologised for the absenoe of Or. .England. Accounts amounting to £463 13i lOd were passed for payment. Ihe Chairman stated that the old willo w plantations on the river banks had so progressed that all the willow cuttings required were obtainable on the works, thereby obviating the oost of cartage, as inourred hitherto.

The Overseer reported that the river rose about a foot on Saturday, but that no damage resulted. He also reported the planting as detailed by the works committee. 1 The works committee reported that the work of planting is being rapidly pushed on, and that a strip of land about sixty chains ii length and one and a half ohains in width, near Olarkson's, and also the vicinity of Brabazon's homestead, are being sown with wattle seeds ; and further, that the Domain Board has placed ten thousand forest tress at the Board's disposal. The Avon Boad Board wrote, in reply, declining to contribute one third of the coat of the proposed protective works at Ohaney's corner, staling that all their funds were required for road repairs; and further, that as ihe road was essentially a oountry road, the further consideration of the matter should be referred to the County Council. Mr J. L. Wilson spoke at considerable length, and finally moved—" That a gorse groin be put in at Ohaney's Corner as soon as possible, the oost not to exoeed £100." Mr Psryman seconded the motion, which was oarried unanirmualy, After the consideration of some routine business, the Board adjourned.
