The following testimonial was presented to Captain Meikleham, of the brigantine Omaha, on her arrival at the Chatham Islands from this port last voyage Waitangi, Chatham Islands, Ist May, 1882.—T0 W. H. Meikleham, master brigantine Omaha —Sir, —We, the undersigned passengers by the brigantine Omaha to_ the Chatham Islands, beg to express our gratitude for the unvarying kindness displayed by you to ns dnring the said trip. We also wish to bear testimony to the admirable and seamanlike way you managed your vessel during the nights of Monday and Tuesday, on which nights we encountered one of the heaviest galea experienced by any of us, and during which time the vessel was ia a most critical position.—We are, dear sir, vary faithfully yours, S. The repairs having been effected to the boiler of the Penguin, she left for Nelson and Southern porta at nine o'clock this morning. Gisborne, June 8 ; The brigantine Isabella, from Timarn, with flour, oats, Ac., for this port,[has gone ashore at Big Biver, Poverty Bay. Dunedin, June 8. Arrived—Te Anan, from North. Sailed—Adieu, for Greymonth. Port Chalmers, June 9. The Union Company's s.s. Manipouri crossed the bar at 6.30 this morning, and was berthed shortly after eight o’clock.
