Malting barley is in good demand at last week's prices, viz , 5s 3d to 5s sd; wheat (shipping) is quieter, but steady at a decline of 2d per bushel, and is now quoted at 6s Bdto 6s lOd. New Zealand oats show a slightly improved tendency.

Sailed—This evening, the Union Company's steamer Wakatipu, for "Wellington.

It is announced that Sir H. Parkes, Premier of the Colony, who is now in Europe, will return to Sydney by the Orient steamship John Elder, arriving here on August 4th. The local branch of the Comptoir des Comptes de Paris was broken into last night by burglars. They did not, however, succeed in obtaining any money or valuables.
