The scores in the following matches for 1881-2 have been taken in compiling the averages shown below, namely : —The All England and Provincial matches, matches against Otago Clubs and all Association matches. Consequently they show the true averages for the past season of the principal members of the H. 0.0.0. who belong to that club alone. In the case of players who belong to both the H. 0.0. and Lancaster Park Clubs, the matches in which they played with the latter are omitted, as that club has already published a purely club average sheet. Owing to several of the bowling analyses not being to hand, it has been impossible to compile tho averages in Ibis department of the game. BATTING.
