[bbutee’s TELEGRAMS.] MELBOURNE, June 2. A private telegram from Foe Chow, under date 29th May, gives the following report of tho local tea market:—The opening prices of the season are two taols above last season’s prices for fine to finest qualities, and one tael for medium and common. The ci*p is equal both in quality and quantity to last season’s, and a large amount of business is doing. The following steamers are loading : Killarnoy, Douglas, for Melbourne; Menmuir, for Sydney; Tannanice, for Adelaide; Bowen, for New Zealand. Freight, 60s; exchange, 3s lOd. The present stocks comprise 200,000 packages. Arrived—This morning. Union Co.’s s.s. Albion, from Bluff. The Manipouri leaves for Dunedin tomorrow.
The ship Most ley Hall, 1772 tons, which has just arrived from London, had a narrow escape from destruction by fire during the passage. A quantity of acids, forming part of her cargo, spontaneously ignited, but the fire was extinguished without much damage being done.
