YE OLDE ENGLYSHE FAYRE.
The attendance during the day was very good indeed, but in tho evening it was moot inconveniently crowded, nearly nine thousand persons having paid for admission from the opening till the closing hour. The evening's programme comprised maypole dances, trapeze and Roman rings, Punch and Judy, grand parade, and sundry performances in Richardson's show, the latter being above the average usually given in most shows of the same ilk. All the performances were good, particularly the acrobatic performancer. Ye mechanical circus also attracted a good share of patronage. At a quarter to eight, a most excellent display of fireworks was given in the grounds attaohed to the Drill-shed, but, unfortunately, the heavy fog militated against its sucoess. The Huocess of Yo Olde Englyshe Fayre may be considered assured, and this is to be attributed in no small degree to the energetio efforts of the advance agent, Mr Abrahams, who has worked witk hearty will to ensure such a result. Ye Fayre opened to-day at two o'clock, and was fairly pa'ronised.
