SUICIDE.

[FB3BS ASflOOlAriOrr TBLEOBAK.] BLENHEIM, May 22, A digger, named Samuel Ballard, committed suicide in Onamulutu valley yesterday. He was found stretched on his bed with a guu between bis legs, and the stick with which he had pulled the trigger. The shot entered his chest, and death must have been instantaneous. The following letter was found in his pocket book:—" My Dear Friends, —I am heartsick of this world, I cannot live in it any longer. My energy is exhausted. I cannot work. I cannot rest—there is one that knows why. Good-bye all. —3. B,” A slip of paper containing the following address was found upon himi—- “ W. Gard, Donald McLean street, Newtown, Wellington.”
