VITAL STATISTICS.
WELLINGTON, May 18. The following are the vital statistics for April:—
Deaths of persons not resid-n.s ot the borough occurring at hospitals have been excluded in all cases. The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 372, against. 432 in March, being a decrease of 60. The deaths amounted to 148 in April, being a decrease of 10. Of the number for March of the above deaths, the males contributed 44 ; females, 64. Seventy-three of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 49 32 per cent, of the whole number. [Fifty-seven of these were of children under one year.
