ALLEGED UNSEAWORTHINESS OF THE DUKE OF SUTHERLAND.

[PBEB* ASSOCIATION TRLRGBAK. I TIMARTT, May 13. The committee of the Harbor Board to-day took evidence on oath with regard to the condition of the barque Duke of Sutherland, recently wrecked here. The boatswain and two apprentices swore that the vessel waa rotten and leaky, and that the crew were afraid to go to sea in her again. They believed she would never reach England again. The purchaser of the wreck corroborated this, by stating that many of the principal beams and planks, as well as the stern post, were like cheese. On the other hand the first mate said she was strongly built, and he knew of nothing the matter with her. Same pieces of timber were produced, and fully bore out the evidence of her unseaworthinPM.
