THE DUNEDIN CHLOROFORM CASE.

The ru'y witness was Dr. Bur:.’, who detailed bow bo administered the drug, which was in the usual manner. He said ho had been practising for twenty-six vei-re, and this was the first time, either in public institutions o> elsewhere, an accident bi.d occurred in connection with hia having adn-i. i.-.orod chloroform. The Coroner said if the jury were net satisfied with the explanation of Dr. Burns, he would adjourn the inqury for evidence of other experts. The sole quea'ion was, wee the doctor negligent. That hw did he take steps to ascertain whether the boy was capable of taking chloroform. Dr. Burns —There is no way known to medical science to satisfy or-fse.li.
