The collections on Friday, April 28th, were as follows :—Spirits, £ll4 X7s 7d ; tobacco, £216 16s; wine, £46 19a 6d; sugar, £9 17s lOd; tea, £2,7 3s 4d ; goods by weight, £42 3s 2d ; ad valorem, .£250 ss; other duties, £5 19s. Total, £744 Is sd. The Customs revenue received at Christchurch in April. 1683, amounted to £21,957 12s7d; beer duty, £ .249 10s3d. The amounts collected in the corresponding month of 1881 were Customs, £19,185 10s 4d ; beer duty, £1066 ss.
