AUTUMN FLOWER SHOW.

The autumn flower and fruit show, in connection with the Horticultural Society, took place yesterday in the Congregational schoolroom. I here was a very fine Bhow of chrysanthemums and fruit, and the attendance, though not commensurate with the quility of the exhibits, wa3 yet fairly good. The following is the PRIZE LIST. POT PLANTS. Open Class. Three large flowering varieties, in pots, let prize, F. Jones; 2nd, S. Manning ; 3rd, F. Jonea. Nairn and Sen. a were also awarded a special first prize for their exhibit in this class. Three pompone varieties, in pots. Ist and 2nd prizes, Spicer and Sons; 2nd, Nairn and Sons. One large flowering variety, standard. Ist prize, F. Jones; 2nd, Nairn and Sons. CUT BLOOMS. Open Class. Twelve large flowering varieties, incurved. Ist prize, A. Forsyth (gardener to the Horn. M. Holmes) ; 2nd, Nairn and Sons; 3rd, W. H. Wilson. Twelve pompones, varieties, single trusses. Ist and 2nd prizes, Nairn and Sons. CUT BLOOMS. Amateur Class. Twelve large flowering varieties, inonrved. Ist prize, E. W. Wilson; 2nd, A. ABhton. Six pompones, varieties, single trasses. Ist and 2nd prizes, J. A. Watts. Fruit, Open Class. Collection of apples ; not less than eighteem nor more than thirty varieties j three of each. Ist prize, W. Gimblett; 2nd, F. H. D. Jones ; 3rd, J. Manning. Two bnnohes black Hambro grapes, grown under f lass, without fire or heat. Ist prize, P. Taylor; nd, C. Marsh; 3rd, P. Taylor. Two bunches any other variety. Ist and 2nd prize, P. Taylor. Two bunches black Hambro grapes, grown outside. 7st and 2nd prizes, E. Garland. Special Prizes, chrysanthemums. Mr fancred's prize, open to all, for eighteen ont blooms, varieties, large flowering. Ist prize, W. H. Wilson. Mr W. E. Ivory's prize for six large flowering Slants in Bin pots. Ist prize, S. Manning ; 2nd, F. ones. Mr Forsyth's prize for twelve large flowering incurved varietics,{cut blooms. Ist prize, W. H. Wilson; 2nd, F. Jones. Mr A. Forsyth's prize for best specimen plant, large variety, in ICin pot, single stem to be seen lin above the mould. Ist prize, F. Jones. FRUIT. Mr Ivory's prize in the amateur class for best collection of apples and pears; twelve varieties of apples, five of each, six do of pears, five of each. Ist prize, F. H. D. Jones. Mr S. Manning's prize in tho open class for general collection of fruit. Ist prize, C. Marsh. The Society's prize for collection of ninety-eight varieties of apples, pears, grapes, and peaches. Ist prize, W. E. Ivory. The Society's prize for collection of apples. Ist prize, E. Marsh. FOR EXHIBITION ONLT. Collection «f lemons from outside, ty Mr T. H. Potts, Governor's Bay, highly commended. Seedling apple raised by Mr J. B. Armstrong highly commended. Collection of apples, forty varieties. Mr F. H. D. Jones, highly commended. A stand of apples, named Wilson's Seedling, and a stand of peaches. Mr J. Manning, highly commended. Specimen of sorghum, exhibited by Mr F. W. Isitt, grown by Mr E. Coup, Kaiapoi Island, highly commended. Collection of single dahlias, shown by Mr A. Forsyth, Oamaru, highly commended. A collection of phiox drnmmondii, faneypansies, and African marigolds, sent by Mr Gimblett, were commended. The judges also highly commended tho large collection of pot chrysanthemums exhibited by Messrs T. Wallace and F. Jones.
