| [PBBSa ASSOCIATION TBLBQBAM.] DUNEDIN, April 25. The public meeting called by the Tradas a- d Labor Council to-night was very largely attended. The Mayor was in the chair, and the following resolutions were carried unanimously :—" That in the opinion of this mee'ing the eight hour system should be encouraged in every possible way by the pooplu of this colony." "That the time has mw arrived wh<n the hours of labor should be defined and legalised, in order that the value of every man's labor may be measured by the same standard" "That a Bill should be introduced into Parliament daring the ensuing session to carry the 6a r .ne into 1.w." "That a copy of the foregoing resolutions br forwarded to all the Otigo members, and their hearty snpport and co operation requested." Moasra. Green, Bracken, and Fish, M.H.R's, titont end Bolt were tho principal speakers. Apologies for non-attendance were read from the Rev. Dr. Koseby and Mr Bathgate, M.H.K.
