"TIMES" v. OPEBA. The return matoh between a team from the "Times " office and an eleven of the Opera Company came off on Saturday on Lancaster Park, and proved very inter siting. It was thought the "Times" would score an easy victory, having a very strong eleven, but the result proved otherwise. The Opera went first to the wickets, and succeeded in putting together the very creditable soore of 111, chiefly contributed by Verdi, who made 47 in excellent Btyle; Williamson, 20 j W-_ Forde, 10 ; and Beaumont, not out, 9, The fielding at times on the part of the Fourth Estate was a little loose, and was taken advantage of by their opponents. The bowling of Dunlop was very good, but Atack was not up to his usual form, he being particularly liked by Verdi, who soorcd very rapidly o£T of him. The " Times " was represented first at the wicketa by Dunlop and Hamilton, the latter playing a fast innings for 24. Dunlop played in good style for his 20, and showed plenty of patience. Atack scored 24 in very quick time, and at this stage of the game it was thought that the " Times" would win; but, unfortunately for them, Atack was stumped very neatly by W. Forde. The rest of the team only put together 14 runs. Moore and Devereaux bowled very well for the Opera, the former not being relished with hia underhand bowling. This makes the fourth matoh that the company have won. The following are the scores:—
