THE EXHIBITION.

The attendance yesterday was in every way satisfactory, that during the evening being very large. The Austrian Band concerts were also well attended, and the fine Art Gallery was better attended than hitherto ; indeed, the promoters express themselves as thoroughly satisfied with the number of visitors.

A meeting for the selection of jurors in the various classes was held in the reporters’ room at half past nine o’clock, but in consequence of the limited notice given having prevented exhibitors obtaining jurors capable of judging the exhibits, the election was deferred till next Monday at half-past nine, at the Exhibition buildings. The first grand concert will be held in the fine art gallery on Thursday evening,

A meeting to arrange for the flower show in connection with the Exhibition was held in the building last evening, at eight o’clock, Professor Bickerton in the chair. The Hon. B. 0. J. Stevens, Messrs H. B. Webb, F. Jones, 8. Manning, D. Nairn, 0. Mudd, G. Cooper, W. Kerr, Allen, and Gimblett were al*o present. It was agreed that the show should be held on Wednesday, April 26th, in the concert room, and that it should be for one day or longer, at the option of those exhibiting. It was retolved, on the motion of Mr B. Manning, seconded by Mr G. Cooper—“ That the schedule as arranged by the show eommittee be adopted.”

The Hon. E. 0. J. Stevens moved, 'Mr D. Nairn seconded, and it was agreed—“ That the exhibition be held under the rules of the Christchurch Horticultural Society, subject to any modification the sub-committee may decide upon.” Mr G. Cooper proposed, Mr S. Manning seconded, and it was agreed—“ That the appointment of judges bo left to the subcommittee.” It was stated that the promoters will give twelve silver and twenty-four foroczs medals to successful exhibitors. Messrs H. B. Webb, F. Jones, D. Naira, C. Mudd, Professor Bickerton, and the Hon. E. O. J. Stevens, were elected as a committee. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair. A meeting of the committee was subsequently held, when the following judges were chosen Flowers and pot plants—Messrs G. A. Eeade, H. B. Webb, and T. TurnerFruit—Messrs J. F. Armstrong, J. Lowe, and J. Dutton. Stewards—Messrs E. Crooks and J, Gnntrip. The competes wul hold a further meeting in of the A. and P, Association at o'qlogl ea 'Thursday evening. L
