SOUTHBRIDGE FOOTBALL CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the above club was held at Mitchell’s Royal Hotel on Tuesday evening. Present Messrs Cland Willis, Charles Willis, W. Malone, W. T. Little, O. Scott, H. Scott, F, Scott, H. McCormick, D. McCormick, H. Ennis, D. Mitchell, H. Nicholson, Y. Donald, T. Harbottle, and others. Mr T. Donald was voted to the chair.

The Secretary, Mr Charles Willis, laid on the table a statement of receipts and disbursements, showing a balance of £4 I2s in the hands of the treasurer, and against this there were outstanding liabilities of something like £6, with available assets to more than cover that amount. The election of officers for the ensuing season was then proceeded with, the following gentlemen being elected to fill the several offices :—President, Dr J. H. Malone ; vice-president, Mr E. GK Stavely j secretary, Mr Y. Donald; treasurer, Mr O. Willis j captain, Mr W. 8. Little; committee of management, Messrs L. Lee, T. Harbottle, W. Willis, P. Scott, 0. Soott, H. McCormick, D. McCormick and officers ex offieio. The following now members were elected—Messrs Waohman, Mayne, Miln, Kail, Lane, Maskrew, Spragge, Nicholson, C. Lee, A. Alabaster, Marquand, and Raven Parker. On the motion of Mr Harbottle, seconded by Mr Little, the opening day was fired for Saturday, Bth April, and the secretary was instructed to invite the Leeston Club to join in the game, and also to write to the Chairman of School Committee for the use of the school ground on the same conditions as last year. A vote of thanks was recorded to retiring officers. The late secretary drew the attention of th meeting to the necessity of constant practice, as several of the Christchurch teams were anxious to try conclusions with them during the coming festival. A vote of thanks to the chairman, and the meeting oloeed.
