[eeutee’s telegrams.] SYDNEY, March 31. ShippingSailed, yesterday afternoon, Union Company’s steamship Rotorua, for Auckland. Reported Murder of a Naval Officer at New Hebrides. Intelligence has been received here that Lieut. Luckraft, of H.M.S. Cormorant, has been murdered by the natives of New Hebrides. No particulars of the outrage are yet to hand. BRISBANE, March 31. The Expedition to New IrelandThe Marquis of Deray’s steamer General, with the remaining Italian colonists, has arrived at Cairns from New Ireland. All on board are in a state of destitution. The captain died on the passage to Cairns. Communication is now passing between the Government of this colony and New South Wales with a view to organise relief for the distressed people.
