Consols, 10l£. New Zealand securities remain at the following quotations:— Five per Gent. 10-40 Loan, 104; Five per Cent. 1889 Loan, 104|; Four and a Half per Cent, 1879-1904 Loan, 103. The markets for colonial produce are without change. At the wool sale to-day, 9400 bales were offered. The tone of the salo was firm.

Irish AffairsIn the House of Commons to-day tbe Right Hon. W. B. Forster, Chief Secretary for Ireland, made a statement with regard to the position of affairs in Ireland. He said there were hopeful signs of a cessation of disorder, but that outrages must be stopped, or the Government would be compelled to ask the House to authorise the adoption of stronger measures for tho suppression of agrarian and political crimes. It has transpired that tbe Government have refused tho request of Messrs Parnoll, Dillon, and O'Kelly, that they should be liberated on parole. In the City of Dublin to-day a murder was committed under circumstances which indicate that the crime was committed from political motives.
