COLLEGE (PAST AND PBESENT) r

ASSOCIATION. This match was commenced on Saturday on the Association ground, the College losing the wickets. Some of the first men scored pretty heavily, notably Reeves with 32. but on the advent of B. J. Ootterill and E. J. Roes the ran getting became fast and furious, and the bowling was completely collared. When stumps were drawn E. J. Ootterill had made the fine score of 117 not out, and Ross 72 not out, both men having played freely and well. The total made was 293, with six wickets down, the remaining principal contributors being W. Ootterill with 13, W. V. Million with 12, and Atack with 10. CHRIST’S COLLEGE v. HIGH SCHOOL. This match was started on Saturday on the Midland ground. The College kept their adversaries in the field all afternoon, putting together the lino score of 278 with nine wickets down, of which O. Ootterill made 110, thus securing the second century during the day for the Ootterill family. Tho other principal scorers were :— Lowry, 40 not out; Rhodes, 23 not out j Bridge, 37 ; Willis, 13 ; and Borton, 17. U. 0.0. SECOND ELEVEN y. MIDLAND SECOND ELEVEN. This match was commenced on Saturday, tho XT.0.0. being the first to go to tho stumps. They put together 77, of which Helmoro with 35 was the principal contributor. Tho two first wickets of the Midland fell for almost nothing, but Bailey and Hargreaves then got sot, and were only separated a few minutes before time was called, having raised the total to 97. Hargreaves’ score was 41 not out, and Bailey’s 37. ADDINGTON CLUB. It may ha interesting to cricketers to hear that this young club has been so successful in its financial matters that they intend enlarg. ing their present ground, taking in that piece of land at the back of the Exhibition, up to the Christchurch Football Pavilion, the Cricket Association having kindly granted the A. 0.0. the use of that portion in a line across to the Lincoln road fence. Tho club also, intend extending their ground, at the end of the Exhibition season, towards the Lincoln road. The work of formation has been entrusted to the care of Mr Lina.
