Consols remain at 10H. New Zealand securities are unchanged at the following quotations :—Five per Cent. 10-40 Loan, 104; Five per Cent. 1889 Loan, 104£; Four and a Half per Cent. 1879-1904 Loan, 103. The market rate of discount has declined to 3|- per cent. The Bank rate is 4 per cent. Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 535, and New Zealand ditto at 495. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 375. Australian tallow—Best beef, 395; best mutton, 445. At tba wool sale to-day 9500 bales were catalogued, making a total of 177,800 offered since the comment of the series. Bidding was steady, but the demand for lots offered was not active. The Cloture. In the House of Commons this afternoon, Mr Gladstone moved the adjournment of the House from April 4th to April 17th, for the usual Easter recess. The adjourned debate upon the Premier’s motion for the introduction of the cloture was resumed this afternoon and is now proceeding. The Condition of Ireland. The accounts to hand from the disturbed districts of Ireland are causing grave apprehension.
