THE EXHIBITION.

_ The railway arrangements during' the Exhibition Beason will be single fares for-the return jonrney on the Canterbury railways, whilst on the Otago ani Southland lines the same arrangements and fares that obtained during the Dunedin races will be conceded. A night trsin will run. from Dunedin to Christchurch for the opening ceremony, which will be continued if the traffic warrants it. The promoters have received a telegram in reply from the Premier re the attendance of Native chiefs at the opening ceremony, as under : "Wellington, March 13th, 1882. "Native Chiefs. If you will state number yon propose asking. Native department will be requested to give names and addresses; Government cannot undertake cost of conveyance or maintenance. "John Hall." Messrs T. Gapes and B. J. Leahy interviewed Messrs Jonbert and Twopeny this mornirg re the friendly societies' procession, and it was agreed that those gentlemen Bhould attend a meeting ot the delegates of the various orders at the City Council Chambers, ou Friday next, at eight o'clock. The secretary (Mr B. J. Leahy) has eommonicated with the Maoiia of Kaiapoi, Raupaki, Tumutu, and Arowhenua, respecting their attendance at the opening ceremony. _ Reference to our advertising columns will give full particulars as to Eeasou tickets, &c, and other information respecting the Exhibition.
