The Southern portion of the San Francisco mail have bean transhipped to the Arawata, which loft Auckland at 11 last night for Wellington via Gisborne and Napier. She was thus ten hours late in starting from Auckland, but every effort will be used to reach Wellington as early ns possible on Sunday morning. She is not expected to arrive, however, much before noon. The Stella has been ordered to be in readiness to proceed to Lyttelton with the Southern mails immediately after tho Arawata's arrival, and they should reach Christchurch on Monday in time for the Dunedin express. The Marlborough, Nelson, and Westland mails will be taken on by the Hawea on Monday.
