When out exercising he threw his rider and rushed down a hill into a ditch, injuring himself so seriously as to die very shortly afterwards. There is a large attendance, and the course is in grand order. Hurdles, weight for age ; 75 aova. Clarence ... ... ... ... 1 Agent ... ... ... ... 2 Skylark 3 Only three started. Clarence made all the running, and although challenged at the finish by Agent, had no difficulty in securing an easy victory. Time —smin. 4seo. Wanganui Derby, of 100 sovs. Odd Trick 1 Taipo 2 Bonny Doon ... ... ... ... 3 Eight started. Won easily. Time —2min ssec. There was £526 in the totalisator, and fifty- two on the winner.
