District Hurdles —Mr P. Marsh’s Young Diomedes, Mr L. Clayfield’a Albion, Mr E. Murfitt’s Tommy and Moa, Mr T. Denton’s Young Barbarian. Oxford Cup Handicap— Mr Hugh Cassidy’s Elfin King, Mr P. Marsh’s Young Diomedes, Mr T. Denton’s Pippin, Mr John Hiller’s Chester, Mr L. Clayfield’s Albion, Mr P. McEvedy’s Trumpeter. Mr Robinson Bryan’s Lady Hollen, Mr B. Mnrfitt’s Norman. HEATHCOTE RACES. A special general meeting of the Lower Heathcote Racing Club was held at the Club Room, Wharf Hotel, Woolston, on Monday, the 6th March, at 8 pm. There was a good attendance, Mr J. W. Davis in the chair. The Secretary (Mr J. Banfford) informed those present that the meeting was called for the purpose of drafting a programme for the Birthday Meeting to be held at Woolston on 21th May next. Mr E. Griffiths was appointed handicappor. A programme will be found in another column. After a vote of thanks to the chair, the meeting terminated. WANGANUI RACES. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.j WANGANUI, March 7. The Wanganui Cap horses have all arrived. The Dauphin went a strong gallop before daylight this morning. Goodman sent Sir Modred and Somnns to do fast work. They are greatly improved since their arrival here Libeller also went two miles in fine style. Virginia Water was sent three miles, and the last six furlongs were run in Imin 20seo. She seems very fit. Wilberforce wont a good gallop. His condition is first-class. Hailstorm and Blue Gown are only in indifferent fettle. The following are the quotations for the Cup:—2 to I Sir Modred and Dauphin, 3to 1 Virginia Water and Libeller, 4 to 1 Somnus, 5 to 1 Wilberforce, 8 to 1 Hailstorm, 20 to I Bine Gown. Wanganui Stakes—B to I Somnus, 4 to 1 Sir Modred, Dauphin, Libeller, »nd Virginia Water; 10 to 1 the others. Derby— Level money Taipo. 3 to 1 Odd Trick, 4 to 10 to 1 anything else. Sapling Stakes—2 to 1 Armourer, 2 to X Amazon, 3 to 10 to I anything else. Thera is very little batting.
