At the inquest on the body of Rodgers, who was found dead in his house, the verdict was “ Death from natural causes.” The University Question Revived. A deputation waited on the Attorney-General and Sir George O’Eorke in reference to the establishment of a University College in Auckland. Mr Whitaker said he was not favorably impressed with the prej eot; but would consider the matter fully at the sittings of the University Senate. A committee was appointed to consider the advisability of prescribing a medical curriculum in connection with the New Zealand University. Harbour Loan. The Harbor Board decided to raise a loan of .£150.000. Native Intelligent. When Tawbaio heard of the interview between the Native Minister and Eewi he sent a message to Eewi tolling him not to discuss the matter nor to take any action until after tbe meeting day. The Thermal Springs. At the sale of Eotorua township the average increase on the upset price of allotments was nearly 50 per cent.; in some cases it was 100 per cent. Mr Duncan, of Wellington, bought the first lot, and was one of the largest purchasers. The Bank of New Zealand purchased several town lots. The suburban and rural lands and township brought an increase over the upset price of 100 to 200 per cent. WELLINGTON, March 7. Assumed.
