Total acreage »old, 61a 2r lOp. Total cash received, £123 2s 6d. CORN EXCHANGE. Report fjr the week ending Friday evening, the 24th instant : Business during the week has been of a more decided character, transactions have been numerous, and the grain season may now be said to have fairly opened. With a very few exceptions the grain is now either threshed or stacked. It baa now been ascertained that the yield of all the cereals is greatly under tho stimate. Wheat.—The tone of the market during the past week is slightly weaker. Good shipping parcels are saleable at 4s to 4s 3d fo b. Tuscan of good quality commands Hd to 2d per bushel more than the highest quotation; parcels of second quality Id to 2d und.r the foregoing quotations; chick wheat is not yet in the market. Oats. —There are no parcels offering, prices nominal. Barley.—A few parcels are in the market, and one or two sales have taken place. There is still, however, a wide discrepancy between buyers and sellers. Holders are asking from 4a to 4s 6d, while buyers are offering 3s 6d to 3a 9d per bushel. Grass seed.—Eye grass : well cleaned farmers’ samples are worth from 4s to 4s 6d per bushel; indifferently cleaned, according to sample. Cocksfoot, 3fd to 4 J-d per lb. Cheese and Batter—The former is saleable at from 4d to 4Jd, the latter 7d to 7£d per lb. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Dunidin, February 24. N Mr J. B.
