HEATHCOTE REGATTA.

A meeting of the committee of the Heathcote Regatta was held at the Commercial Hotel on Wednesday night, Mr H. Thomson iu the chair. The question of tho protest entered by the Kaiapoi beat in the Junior Double-soulls Race against tho Union for fouling, was, on tho evidence cf the starter, disallowed. A complaint was made by tho Union erewagainst the Kaiapoi for threatening them in the same race, and Mr Davie moved—- “ That the Cure Bowing Club be written to, informing them that a statement had been made that at the start of tho Double-sculis, their oox purposely steered his boat into the Union boat, and that a member of tho crew expressed his intention of doing for them, and apparently endeavored to unship the rudder ofj the Union boat; that tho Cure Club be asked if they have any explanation to offer in respsot to it; and informed that the committee will meet on March Bth, to receive such explanation.” Mr Hay seconded tfce motion, which was carried. It was resolved that tho Senior Double-soulls Race, in which all the boat#, except the one representing the U.RO, were swamped or itopped to render assistance, be rowed over again on March 4th, at 4 p.m,, on the Heathoote. Several accounts were passed, and after a bea-ty vete of thanks to Mr Monck for hi# kindness, the meeting adjourned.
