[By TunBGBkPH.] rPor Alhambra, at Dunedin.] MELBOURNE, February 9. Colonel Bruce Hutton has been appointed temporarily Commandant of Volunteers. All is satisfactory at the quarantine station; no further cases reported. The total railway receipts for February were £38,227. The principal portion of the Exhibition building is reported unsafe. The walls are bulging out, and it is necessary to tie them, otherwise the building will collapse. Mr Langton having retired from Barrinda, Mr Lawes is now the choice of the constituency. The Russian officer* visited various public buildings and dined with the Mayor yesterday and met a large official party. The Rer. Charles Strong has been induced to withdraw his resignation of the pastorate of Scots Church,
