CORRESPONDENCE
THE EXHIBITION FETES.
To the Editor of the Glohe. Sir, —From a report which appears in your paper I perceive that a committee is being told off to collect subscriptions to the extent of a few hundred pounds for a sue cession of sports to be held during the progress of the Exhibition, and as the public don’t care to pay more than once to see such exhibitions as the late match held here, may I ask whether the field for operation will be cn private or public ground. There is no doubt but that the Hagley Park should bo the one great centre during the big show, but as there is a doubt whether it may not be Lancaster Park, which is supposed to ba a self-supporting venture, the public should not be asked to pay their bob now and again at the gates. Thanking you for the space in your columns, 1 remain Yours, &o , SUBSCRIBER, P.S.—I would suggest that an Old English Fayre, as lately successfully held in ! Melbourne, would be an attraction, and j commend it to the notice of the Friendly Societies.
