The Reported Revolt at HeratIn the House of Commons to-day Sir Charles Dilke, Under - Secretary for Foreign Affairs, in reply to a question, stated that there was no foundation for the intelligence recently published of the revolt at Herat, in Afghanistan. CONSTANTINOPLE, February 15. Attack on a Naval Officer. Intelligence has been received that Commander Selby, of H.M.S. Falcon, while shooing near Ortaki, a town on the southern shore of tho Sea ot Marmora, was attacked by several armed men and severely wonded. The Porto has, in compliance with the demand of Earl Dnfforin, British Ambassador, ordered that steps should be taken to arrest the authors of tho outrage, and with this object, a Turkish ironclad will be despatched without delay to Ortaki. VIENNA, February 14. The Rebellions.
Telegrams from the seat of operations in the disturbed provinces are to hand, in which the Austrian commanders claim that the rising in Bosnia, Dalmatia, and the northern part of Herzgovina have virtually collapsed. The southern portion of the last-named province is now stated to alone be the scene of disaffection.
