OEBISTOHUROE Saturday, February 11. [Before B. Beetfaam and O. W'hitsfoord, Esqs., B.M’s ] Drunkenness. — Margaret Me Quire, for being drunk and destroying property belonging to W. H. |Kiddy, was fined 10s, and ordered to pay Is 61 damages, and. 2j cab hire. Biohard Harper was fioed 10s, and ordered to pay cab hire Is. For first offences, one woman was discharged, and another was fined ss, and ordered to pay 3s expenses connected with the care of a horje and cart which she had been driving. Wm. Higgins, who had been remanded for medical treatment, was now brought up, lined ss, and ordered to pay 15s for his maintenance while under treatment. A man for a first offence was fined ss. Dksebtion from a Makof War. —Jack Bose, alias George Smith, on remand from February 3rd, charged with deserting from H.M.S. Baleigh, at Wellington, on August 11th, 1880, was, on the application of the police, remanded for a further period of seven days. Mr Beston, gaoler at Addington, in whose custody accused was brought up, stated that accused had assaulted him a short time before, when leaving the gaol. Sergt. Mason applied for leave to enter a charge of assault against accused on the charge sheet, there not having been time to do so before the commencement of the sitting. It was arranged that the charge should be taken when the prisoner came up again.
