FrBB PBBS3 asbooiation.l WELLINGTON, January 31. An Uncertainty Remedied. The Colonial Secretary has authorised tho police authorities to permit the holders of privileges from tho Wellington Racing Club to vend liquors on the racecourse on Thuradoy and Friday next. The Christcharch ExhibitionMessrs Joubert and Twopony have written to the Premier expressing a hope that he and tho other members of the Government will attend tho opening of the Exhibition in Christchurch on April 10th. The Premier replied that it was impossible to say what the arragements of Ministers might be in April, but that they would be glad to attend if they could, and that no doubt a Minister or Ministers would bo able to accept the invitation. Accident to a Jockey. A sad accident happened on the racecourse this morning. Thomas Monaghan, the rider of Flour de Lys, was doing a final gallop before the Cup race, together with tho rider of Somnus, when ho ran on to a post by a rail leading to the grand stand, and fractured his right leg just below the knee. He was at once conveyed to the Hutt, where Dr. Wilford recommended his removal to the hospital, which was done. The full effect of the accident is not yet known. NEW PLYMOUTH, January 31. Reported Missing. A man named Jackson Qilmour is reported to tho police as missing. He is well connected in England, and a remittance is awaiting him in the Bank from Home. DUNEDIN, January 31.
