[eeutee’s TELEGEAMS.] LONDON, January 21. Asking for More. A large meeting, attended by 2000 delegates of Ulster farmers, was held today at Belfast, when resolutions were passed in favor of the extension of the Irish Land Act, so as to provide for the appointment of a Land Commission for each county in Ireland, instead of for large districts only, as at present. The meeting further resolved that the reductions in rent which had been made by the Land Courts up to the present time were totally inadequate, in view of the circumstances of the Irish tenants. The Markets. Consols are unchanged at 100-£, New Zealand securities remain at the following quotations;—Five Per Cent. 10.40 Loan, 104 J; Five Per Cent. 1889 Loan, 104; Four and a-Half Per Cent. 18791904 Loan, Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, unchanged; 55s ex store; New Zealand do, 525. Tho total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,850,000 quarters. Adelaide flour, ox warehouse, 41s; Australian tallow, best beef, bas fallen Is 6d per cwt., and is quoted to-day at 41s 6d; best mutton has declined 2s, to 465. Galvanised iron, per ton, 26in guage, £lB 10s. Best Sydney copra has advanced to £ls per ] ton. Australian leather, best sides are worth 10 Id. Bank Dividend. The Union Bank of Australia has declared a dividend of 7 per cent, for tho past half-year. January 22. The Persecuted JewsA meeting to be held at tho Mansion House has been convened by the Lord Mayor, for tho purpose of raising funds to assist tho persecuted Jews of Russia. January 23. More Fighting. Tho “ Standard” to-day publishes a telegram stating that a rebellion has broken out against Turkish rale in Yemen province in south-west Arabia, and that a severe battle has been fought between the insurgents and tho Turkish troops, re-
suiting in the defeat of the former, and in the infliction of loss upon them of fully 200 killed, PARIS, January 21. Political ReformThe committee appointed by tho Chamber of Deputies to report on Gambetta’s Bill for the revision of the French Constitution, concluded its labors, after being addressed by Gambetta at length in support of tho principle of the measure. Tho committee resolved to commend to the Chamber the adoption of a counter scheme of reform, and one which ignores the proposal for the adoption of the scrutin de liste. YIENNA, January 20. Disaffected. Telegrams are to hand reporting that tho inhabitants of the province of Bosnia are at the present time much disturbed against Austrian rule. January 22. Tho rising of tho inhabitants of Dalmatia, Herzegovina and Bosnia is rapidly spreading over those provinces, and tho insurgents are actively organising to oppose tho Austrian troops. January 22. The Unfortunate Jews. Tho “ Journal de St. Petersburg,” in an article to-day, fiercely denounces the movement in London to raise subscriptions for tho Russian Jews, and says that the agitation is founded upon hatred of Englishmen for Russia.
