The late PresidentThe Victorian official “ Gazette,” published to-day, contains a copy of a despatch from Mr Blaine, the American Secretary of State, to the British Minister at Washington, conveying the heartfelt thanks of Mrs Garfield for the telegrams of condolence received from the colonies on the occasion of the late President’s death.
