ROMAN CATHOLIC SCHOOL, LYTTELTON.
The annual examination of the Roman Catholio Sohool, Lyttelton, took place on the 22nd inst. To test the year's work the Rev. Father O Donnell and Mr O'Connor were called in as examiners, and assisted by the local parish priest, the Rev. Father Walsh. The scholars were examined with the following result : First Class—Laurence Blake Ist, William Coles 2nd, Ita Kenny 3rd. Second Class—Maurice Kenny Ist, Maria J. Coles 2nd, J. McQuilkin 3rd. Third Class—Hannah Kenny Ist, John Young 2nd, Isabella O'Driscoll 3rd. Fourth Class—James Lawrence Ist, Owen Higgins 2nd, Frank Cole 3rd. INFANT DKPAKTMBNT. First Division—Mary Papes Ist, Francis HarriDgton 2nd, Winifred Cole 3rd. Becond Division—Agnea Young Ist, Daniel Mahar, 2nd, Frank Flakes 3rd. Third Division—Agnes Coles Ist, Frank Driscoll 2nd. Rose Ferdinand 3rd. In tho First Class, Wm. Cole and Ann McGuire took the prizes for deportment. In Becond, Annie O'Neill and Maurice Kenny tho prize for deportment. In Third, Margaret Weyburne and John Young were succeßsful. Fourth Class found Andrew Blako and Margaret O'Neill at the head for conduct. Mr P. D. Quirk is the master in charge of the sohool.
