NEW ZEALAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
We are in reoeipt of a programme of the fourth prize meeting, to be held at the Brightwater range near Nelson on February 27th next. In all fourteen matches have been arranged, each of whioh is distinguished by a name instead of a number as hitherto. They are as follows :
ITeleon Match, 200 and 500 yards; seven rounds at eaoh distance. Twenty-three prizes, valne £7O.
Otago Match, 200 yards ; ten rounds. Sixteen prizes, value £SO. Auckland Match, 200 yards; ton rounds. Sixteen prizes, value £SO. Canterbury Match, 200, 500, and 600 yards; seven rounds at eaoh distance. Sixteen prizes, value £SO. Wellington Match, 200, 300, and 500 yards; seven rounds at each distance. Sixteen prizes, value JSSO. Marlborough Match, 200 and 500 yards; ten shots at each distance. Sixteen prizes, value £SO.
Union Match, 200 and 400 yards; ten shots at eaoh distance. Sixteen prizes, value £SO 10s,
North v South Match (rifles), 200, 500, and 600 yards ; seven shots at eaoh diotanoo. The Rifle Cup (to be held by tho highest scorer of the winning team for twelve months) and a money prize of £2 10s will be given to the winning team; and the highest scorer on the losing side will receive a money prize of £2 LOs.
North v South Match (carbines), 200, 300, and 500 yards ; seven shots at each distance. The Carbine Cup (to be held by the highest scorer of the winning team for twelve months) and a money prize of £2 10s will be given to the winning team ; and the highest aooror on the losing side will reoeive a money prize of £2 10s.
Civilian Matoh, 200 and 500 yards ; seven shoti at each distance. Eight prizes, value, £2O.
Bifle Company's Trophy Match, 200, 500 and 600 yards; seven shots at each distance. The entries, less one-sixth for expenses, will be devoted to the purchase of a prize trophy. Csrbine Company's Trophy Match, 200, 300 and 500 yards. Prize conditions similar to the above.
Bifle Company's Challenge Match, 200, 500 and 600 yards ; seven shots per man at each distmce. Frizes—£2s to the highest team, £lO to the seoond, and £5 to the third. Carbine Company's Challenge Matoh, 200, 300 and 500 yards. Conditions and prizes similar to the above.
The highest aggregate scorer in Otago, Canterbury, and Marlborough matches, who shall produce a certificate of efficiency for the Volunteer year ended 31st December, 1881, shall be the Volunteer Bifle Champion for 1882, and entitled to hold the belt for twelve months.
The aggregate prizes are as follows : Rifles.—lst. The Bifle Champion Belt, N.Z.B.A. gold star, and £ls ; 2nd. N.Z.B.A. lilver star and £7 10s ; 3rd. N.Z.B.A. silver ttar and £5 ; 4th. £2 10s. Carbines. Belt, N.Z.B.A. gold star, and £ls; 2nd. N.Z.B.A. silver star and £7 10s ; 3rd. N.Z.B.A. silver star and £5 ; 4th, £2 10s.
The National Bifle Association's silver medal will be awarded to the competitor who makes the greatest aggregate number of hits in the first seven matohes.
