The s.s Penguin sailed for Akaroa yesterday morning with a large number of excursionists, and returned in the evening, and after landing her excursionists, sailed again for Danedin. The s s. Go-A head arrived yesterday morning from Stonyhurst, and sailed for Castle Point in the afternoon. SHIPPING TELEGEAMS. Auckland, December 16. The Tainni, from Levuka, has arrived. She sighted the May Queen, from London to Tauranga, off the North Capo. Westport, December 17. The steamer Chaa. Edward left Greymouth at 4.30 on Wednesday morning. When off Charleston a portion of the machinery gave way, and the vessel was blown to sea, and only made the Bailer this morning under sail. She was towed in. Oamabd. December 17. Sailed—Gustav Metzler, for Liverpool, with a «argo of wheat. Bluff, December 17. Arrived—Stella, s s., on her periodical visit to the lighthouses. The Alhambra, s.s., at daylight. She left Melbourne at noon on the 10th, and arrived at Hobart at noon on the 12th. Left at 11 pm. Experienced strong westerly winds with heavy seas to arrival. Passengers—Saloon, for Bluff : Messrs Tnson, Lewes, Hall. For Dunedin: Messrs Frahin, Gillies, Mel wen, Wells, Holt, Miss Mannsell. For Lyttelton ; Mr Cansfield, Eer.
