The cricket match between the English team and an eleven of Victoria, was commenced to-day. The weather was very fine, and a capital wicket was pitched, the ground being in good order. The Victorians went in first, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had put together 247 runs for the loss of eight wickets (sic). McDonnell made 51, and Blackham 66. The bowling and fielding of the Englishmen were much admired. SYDNEY, December 16, Political. It is announced that the Hon. James Hoskings intends to visit England shortly, and has consequently resigned the portfolio of Minister of Lands. ADELAIDE, December 16. The Markets. The hreadstuffs market is strong.
