In the action Oorr v the Standard Insurance Company of New Zealand, to recover the insurance on the schooner Alma, in which a verdict was last month returned for the plaintiif, judgment has by order of the Court been postponed. The Pugilistic Professors. The inquiry held by the University Council into a fracas which occurred at a meeting of the professorial Board to the University last week, has resulted in the suspension of Professor Elkington for three months, and Professor Manson for two months. Sugar. Latest Mauritius advices report that engagements for sugar for Dunedin amount to 750 tons, and for Lyttelton to 200 tons, but none had cleared since November 4th. SYDNEY, December 13. The English Eleven. The cricket match between the English Eleven and Eleven of New South Wales was concluded to-day, and resulted in a victory for the former by 68 runs. The respective scores in each innings were— English, 272 and 162; New South Wales, 210 and 156. Of the last-named total Massie contributed 76. In the second innings of New South Wales the bowling of the Englishmen was dead on the wicket, and their fielding was very good.
