The Postmaster-General-Mr James, the United States Post-master-General, has resigned, and has been succeeded by Mr Freling Huysen, Chili and PeruA depatch has been published in which Mr. Blaine, the Secretary of State, warns Chili and Peru that the working of any European Power will produce more active intervention on the part of the United States. Mr Blaine urges the two countries to come to a settlement without any cession of territory on the part of Peru being required. VIENNA, December 12. The Late CatastropheThe funeral of the victims of the recent fire was publicly performed to-day. The ceremony was of the most imposing character, and was witnessed by many thousands of people.
