James Godso, a well-known builder, whil® walking along the railway lino on his Wriy home to Bavonsbourne yesterday evening, lost his hat in crossing a small bridge, and in attempting to catch it ho overbalanced and fell into the bay. The water was running out strong sit the time. Though the man was not in the water five miautos, the accident having been observed from the road, life was extinct when he was got out. At Saddle Hill, Adam Callendar, a miner, waß killed by foul air in prospecting the shaft he was visiting. Retired-
