Pabadisb Pudding.—Put into a basin Jib of bread crumbs, four apples, pared, cored, and minced, 4oz of currants, 4oz of sugar, salt, and grated nutmeg to taste, the rind of half a lemon, beat up four eggs, mix all well together, and stir in half a wineglassful of brandy, Eut into a buttered mould, and steam for two ours. Serve with sweet sauce. Beer can be used instead of brandy, but not milk, as it makes the pudding heavy. Splendid Application pob Weak Eves. —Add two grains of sulphate of zinc to one once of rose-water. Sponge some of this mixture, diluted with a little cold water, into the eyes several times a day. Its strengthening properties are groat.
