Toilette Vineoats. —The Paris “ Figaro ” gives a simple recipe for making toilette vinegar, the properties of which are very refreshing :—Pick a quantity of leaves into a bowl, boil some common vinegar, and whilst boiling pour it on the leaves. Let it remain for a fortnight, and then strain through blotting paper. Any sort of rose is good for this preparation, but the preferable is the puteaux rose, as it is the most fragrant. A small spoonful of this vinegar in a glass of water with a little sugar makes a very pleasant drink.

Bbubbb Fondtt. —In the summer, when butter is cheap, buy 61b or 71b of the best, put it in a saucepan, heat it, and strain away all the curd. Out into pieces the same weight of beef suet, and put it in another pan with a little water. Let all tho water boil away, and when the fat is melted strain away the pieces and add it to tho butter. Thoroughly mix the whole and pour it into o deep dry jar, to be used hereafter as occasion shall require. It keeps far longer than butter alone, and is better for pastry, cakes or other purposes than fat alone would be.
