[pBE PKES3 ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, November2B. Trial of Hiroki. Hiroki was brought up at the Police Court this morning, when Dr, O’Oarroll gave evidence as to tho prisoner having an old wound above tho hip bone. Bichard Birch corroborated Mr Fraser’s evidence, adding that prisoner wore a cap like the one produced. The case is proceeding. DUNEDIN, November 28. Al'eged Forgery. H. B. Molntoah, manager of tho Walton Park Coal Company, has been arrested for forgery. The defalcations amount to £ISOO. NEW PLYMOUTH, November 28, Fatal Boating Accident. Yesterday morning a fatal accident occurred on the Waitara river, resulting in tho death of V illiam Ady and his wife. They, with their little child about seven months old, were in a sailing boat on the river, the wife steering, when the boat “jibed,” and the mainsail knocked her overboard. Ady jumped into the river after his wife, who clung to him, and after a struggle they were drowned. The man’s body was recovered three hours afterwards, but up to a late hour last night the woman’s body had not been found. The child was left in the boat, and was recovered alive. Wm. Ady, who was drowned at Waitara yesterday, was from Q-roymoutb, and had for some time been trading to the West Coast from Lyttelton, The child has been adopted by a settler at Waitara. The body of Mrs Ady was picked up this morning on the Waitara river bank, a little below the old cattle wharf. fPEOM OtTE cobeeseondbnt]. KAIAPOI, November 28. The Clematis AshoreThe schooner Clematis, Johnston, master, went ashore on tho South Beach, at the bar, on Sunday evening. The cargo, 54.8C3ft. timber for Bobins and Day, is insured with the Victoria Company for £l5O. The vessel is said not to be insured.
