SPIOER wiahes mo ß t respeot- - fully to Inform the Ladies of Christcburch that Bhe has opened a Registry Office for Female Servants at the Colombo Store, Colombo street North. 352 , TO THE ELECTORS OF THE AVON AND LINCOLN DISTRICT. GENTLEMEN,— I have to thank those who were so f ull> prepared to secure my return to the Genera 1 Assembly for either of the above Electorates for the compliment they have paid me, and regret that my business engagements will not justify me in neglecting the same, even for the honor of representing either the Avon or Lincoln in Parliament. In the case of the Avon, in the face of the likelihood of so many political colts being returned to Parliament, I think it wise to retain tbe services of your present member, for it is obvious that a steady old shafter will be necessary to prevent the harness being broken or the coach overturned. Of course, the Avon M.H.R. is not all my fancy painted him, for he requires keeping well in hand, a gentle usage of the spue, ride him with a light but steady rein, and insist npon his reporting himself to his stable periodically, and he will do for a year or so previous to his elevation the Upper Chamber. Again thanking yon, I am, gentlemen, yours very faithfully, 576 JOHN T. MAT3ON.
