[reuter's telegrams.] MELBOURNE, November 19. Russian Fighting Ships. Information has been received that five Russian men-of-war will shortly visit the colonies. Two of the vessels are, it is stated, to be under orders to proceed direct to Auckland. SYDNEY, November 19. Shipping. Sailed, this afternoon—Hero, for New Zealand. ADELAIDE, November 19. Prorogation of Parliament. The South Australian Parliament has been prorogued. BRISBANE, November 19. Escaped Convicts. Eight escapees from the French penal settlement at New Caledonia have been captured at Fraser Island o£E the coast of this colony, near Maryborough. The escapees had been thirteen days at sea in an open boat. They were brought up at the Maryborough Police Court to-day and remanded to Brisbane.
