At a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Wellington Diocesan Synod to-night a resolution was unanimously carried tendering the hearty congratulations of the diocese to the Primate on the consecration of the Christchurch Cathedral. The Bishop was requested to transmit the resolution to the Primate.

Of the ninety-one election writ* thirty-two were transmitted by telegraph late last night, and of these five have already been telegraphed back in accordance with the provisions of the now Aot (Regulation of Elections, 1881). The rest have gone by post. Mr Hall leaves by the Wanaka to-morrow on his way to Selwyn to commence his election campaign. __
