Tho assistant, Daniel Thomas, was badly burned about tho head, face and arms. He endeavored to suppress the fire, but tho flames smashed the plateglaes front, causing a draught. Two young men leaped through the aperture, and aided by some bystanders with buckets of water quickly suppressed the fire. The estimated damage by fire and water is £BOO. The stock is insured for £IOOO in tho South British, £550 in the New Zealand, and £1750 in tho National.
