MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY, NOYEMBEE 5. For Fiji Islands, per Waitaki (to connectwith s.s. Taiaroa, at Auckland), at G. 30 p.m. For United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Cape ot Good Hope, &c. (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, and Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Waitaki,. as follows :—Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6.30 p.m. ; registered correspondence, at 5 p.m. ; money orders at 3 p.m ; ; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will be due ■ in London on December 20th. MONDAY, NOYEMBEE 7. For Northern Ports, per Albion, at 9.40 a.m.;. late fee letters at 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.20 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, per St, Kilda, at 11.30' a m. ; late fee letters, 11.40 a.m. ; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. Notice. —On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money orders will be issued in New Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will be issued in New Zealand payable in the United States of America. Note.—Wednesday, 9th inst., being a Post Office holiday, all branches! of the Post Office will be closed on that day. The mails usually sent on the 9th will be closed on the Bth inst., at 7.30 p.m., and as there will bo no delivery by letter carrier on the 9th, the Post Office will be open on the night of the at nine o’clock for • the delivery of letters usually taken out by the carriers.
